Wedding Invitation Fonts: Script and Serif Pairings for Every Style

Bellatrice – A Natural Signature Font font preview

Your invitation is the first glimpse guests get of your wedding. The fonts set the tone long before the venue does — romantic, modern, rustic or classic.

Four wedding styles and the fonts to match

Romantic calligraphy

Flowing scripts for names, a classic serif for details: Esmelora with Aluniea.

Modern minimal

A refined signature and a thin sans: Bellatrice with Moerostesa.

Timeless elegance

All-serif and spacious: Opulenio for names, Sarimun for the rest.

Rustic and handmade

Natural handwriting for a garden or barn wedding: Naraine with Kalpatrie.

Invitation design tips

  1. Put the couple’s names in the script, nothing else.
  2. Set date, time and venue in the serif or sans — guests must read them at a glance.
  3. Use the same fonts on signage, menus and thank-you cards for a cohesive day.
  4. Print a test at real size; thin scripts can disappear on textured paper.

Type the couple’s names

  1. Aria & Bima
    The Rosmarie Signature Formal signature
  2. Aria & Bima
    Gendhisan Old-school romance
  3. Aria & Bima
    Little Nima Modern script
  4. Aria & Bima
    Opulenio Thin elegant serif
  5. Aria & Bima
    Kaliendric Luxury serif

The classic invitation layout

  1. Names in a script, large and centred.
  2. “Together with their families” and the date in a small serif, in capitals with generous spacing.
  3. Venue and RSVP details in the serif, regular case, easy to read.

Printing tips

  • Very thin scripts can break up in foil or letterpress. Choose a slightly heavier script for those finishes.
  • Print a test at real size before ordering — names that look great on screen can be too small on a 5×7 card.
  • Keep the same fonts on the welcome sign, menus, seating chart and thank-you cards for a polished set.

Do I need a paid license?

For your own wedding, the free Personal Use license on most of our fonts is enough. If you’re a planner, stationer or Etsy seller designing for clients, choose the Desktop License (or Extended for large print runs).
